Floralia – Roman Spring festival in Aquincum 2019

In 2019 the Aquincum Museum will be hosting for the 30th time its largest traditional Roman event, the most popular holiday of the Roman period, the Floralia spring festival. This year, the Floralia will begin on Friday, May 10, as it is on that day that we celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Aquincum Museum!

  • Exhibition of ancient instruments (only during the Floralia)
  • Arts and crafts workshops, crafts fair (felting, pottery making, jewellery making, net weaving, basket weaving, forging, plant weaving, weaving-knitting, shield painting, fresco making)

Tickets: at the museum’s usual ticket desk (1031 Budapest, Szentendrei út 135.), and only during the event at the Keled Street (northern) gate

Public transport: Bus 34, 134 and 106 (Záhony utca or Aquincum stop), H5 HÉV and train (Aquincum stop)

Parking: at the museum’s car park, via the gate at Szentendrei út 133., and at the car park of the neighbouring shopping centre

 

The ancient festival comes back to life at the Aquincum Museum at an event organised by the Friends of Aquincum.
