Samhain – Celtic Halloween 2021

Samhain - Celtic Halloween in Aquincum on 31 October 2021, from 15:00 to 23:00!

Prior to the Roman conquest, the area of the Hungarian capital was inhabited by the Celtic Eravisci. To introduce Celtic customs and festivals to our visitors, we have dedicated the last day of October to the Celts for the third year in a row.

In the Celtic calendar, 31 October marked the end of the summer. That is when they celebrated the festival of Samhain, which can be considered the ancestor of modern-day Halloween. At the Samhain festival in Aquincum, we are organising Celtic-themed arts and crafts workshops, a concert and more. Please note that most of the event will be in Hungarian.
