Hajnóczi 100

On the 100th anniversary of his birth, the Hajnóczi 100 exhibition of the Budapest History Museum’s Aquincum Museum looks back at the stages of Gyula Hajnóczi's rich career. The exhibition will open in the "Dirké" building of the Aquincum Museum on 4 September 2020.

Through his work, Gyula Hajnóczi undoubtedly built bridges between architecture history and contemporary architectural practice, from the dawn of European civilisation to the late-20th century. He dedicated his life to teaching, architecture, and monument protection. With his conservation and reconstruction of Roman remains, he practically established a new school of monument protection in Hungarian architecture. Thanks to his accomplishments, he became renowned internationally. On the 100th anniversary of his birth, the Hajnóczi 100 exhibition of the Budapest History Museum’s Aquincum Museum looks back at the stages of Gyula Hajnóczi’s rich career.  The exhibition will open in the “Dirké” building of the Aquincum Museum on 4 September 2020.
