Non-excavation coin finds (hoards, stray specimens), recovered in Aquincum
and its environs are kept separately from the archaeological collections.
Their inventorization is based on a number of special points of view.
In this collection, numbering several thousands, bronze and silver coins
of various types are kept in a chronological order by the respective emperors.
The scientific evaluation of the Aquincum coin material is currently being
carried out. It is hoped that this rich collection will be published in
the form of a separate volume.
