SET OF ARTEFACTS FOR BURIAL – LATE NAGYRÉV CULTURE

Szigetszentmiklós - Felsőtag

At the end of the Early Bronze Age uniform burial rites became widespread in the cemeteries of the Nagyrév culture. The dead were cremated and the ashes put in bigger pots used as urns. The urn was almost always covered with a bowl. An essential part of the burial set was a cup or mug, in which they may have placed drink for the afterlife.
