Gods, soldiers, citizens in Aquincum The exhibit in the museum building was put together on the occasion
of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Aquincum Museum. With
the aid of the most important finds from we present life in the town,
the Roman citizens and soldiers who lived within its walls. The townspeople
lived with their gods, so that, the world of the Roman Gods wove through

Aquileia - Aquincum. Although the Roman precusor of the Capital, Aquincum, did not lie directly along the Amber Road it never the less had many connections with the town of Aquileia which for 400 years was the the point of departure for this very important route. On exhibit here one finds imported objects from Aquileia, vessels, bronze and glass pieces, dress items and, naturally, worked amber ornaments as well. The relationship was not only measurable in terms of objects however, but also interms of traditions of building construction and burial customs as well.
