Aquincum Games 2011


People, who would like to take part on the events of the Aquincum Museum, can experience a kind of time-travel. Visitors, from children to adults, can get to know the Roman daily life.
The Aquincum Museum attratcts more than 35,000 visitors every year between April and October. Most of them are pupils and students, but in the summer-tourist-season primarily foreign tourists visit the area. So that people can see the museum with more interest, beside the permanent exhibition the museum provides temporary exhibitions, numerous events and educational programs too.

 

 

XXI. Floralia - Roman spring festival

The traditional and popular Roman - type feast-day has become a favourite family-program in the last couple of years, which provide a wide variety of interesting programs for everybody: flower-show, theatre-performances, crafts-on-show, performances of the roman, celtic and german reenactment groups and gladiator fights are some of the many programs for the weekend.

20:00 and 22:00 Guided tour with torches through the Military Bath Museum ( Florian Square )

For safety reasons, the open-air museum in Aquincum cannot be visited at night. Instead, a guided tour with torches will be held amongst the ruins at the Military Bath Museum ( Florian Square ) where places - normally closed to public - can be visited as well.
