Barbarian Family Day in Aquincum 2020

Barbarian Family Day 2020 in Aquincum! Join us on 4 October from 10:00 until 18:00!

On Sunday 4 October from 10:00 until 18:00 join us at the Aquincum Museum for our Barbarian Family Day! The Archaeological Park will host barbarian craftsmen and warriors, who introduce visitors to the daily lives of the peoples conquered by Rome and those living beyond the borders of the Empire.  Visitors can learn about the culture and customs of Celtic and Germanic peoples during the clash of re-enactors and arts and crafts workshops, and can also take part in special tours, presentations and games.

At the re-enactors’ camps:
10:00-18:00 Training against the Roman legions (Ludus Gladiatorum Aquincum)
10:00-18:00 Camp, clothing and weapons demonstration, challenges (tug of war, ring toss, spear throwing), warrior training for kids (Norde Gard)
10:00-18:00 Camp, clothing, and weapons demonstration (Jaurinum)
10:00-18:00 Camp, clothing and weapons demonstration, spear throwing, archery, caber toss, weapons and duel instruction (Szarvas Törzs)
Arts and crafts (Tickets can be purchased until 16:00, 1 arts and crafts ticket costs 300 HUF):
10:00-13:00 and 14:00-17:00 Make your own clay beads (the beads will be fired on the spot) (1 ticket)
10:00-12:00 and 13:00-17:00 Make your own wire jewellery (1 ticket)

We reserve the right to make changes to the programme!

The number of participants in guided tours in enclosed spaces is limited. Registration at the museum on a first come first served basis.

Tickets:
Adults: 1900 HUF/person
Adult group ticket (20+ people): 1500 HUF/person
Students and Seniors: 950 HUF/person
Students and Seniors group ticket (10+ people): 750 HUF/person
Family ticket (2 adults + 2 children): 3800 HUF/family

During the event regular discounts do not apply. Journalists, people with disabilities and their companions, visitors younger than 6 or older than 70, as well as teachers accompanying groups of students can visit the event free of charge!

Free entry for residents of District III with a valid address card!
