Vinalia in Aquincum

The Aquincum Museum and the Friends of Aquincum will hold a Vinalia wine festival in the Archaeological Park of the Aquincum Museum on 11 September 2016 (11:00-18:00).

The opening event of the Óbuda Gastro Weeks, the Vinalia revives the ancient Roman festival of the wine harvest. The event will include between 11:00 and 18:00 a crafts fair, wine tasting, crafts activities, mythological tales for younger visitors (in Hungarian) and a play “The adventures of the God of wines” (in Hungarian) for older visitors. During the event, re-enactors of the Legio X Gemina will introduce visitors to the daily lives of the legionaires. Visitors can also sample typical harvest dishes.

11:00–18:00 Crafts fair: honey, honey products, honey cake, goat milk and cheese, wooden tools and toys
11:00–18:00 Arts and crafts activities: pottery, felting, basket weaving
11:00–18:00 Wine tasting and fair (Métis Művészeti Kft.)
11:00–18:00 Roman harvest dishes (Hungarobistro Kft.)
12:00–13:00 The House of the painter comes to life – interactive walk with actors
11:00–17:00 Harvest festivities and contests (Toma és csapata)
15:00–16:00 Fauns and nymphs – mythological tales (Szami-Ko Társulat)
17:00–18:00 The adventures of the God of wines (Szami-Ko Társulat) (Appropriate only for ages 16+)

Dance artist students (modern dance specialisation) of the Hungarian Dance Academy, led by Katalin Lőrinc, will present their dance show at 11:00.

Adult: 1800 HUF

Reduced: 900 HUF

Family: 4500 HUF

During the event we are only able to accept cash. The usual museum ticket discounts do not apply.
