The museum has re-opened!

From 16 February 2023, the Aquincum Museum is again open to visitors!

Dear Visitors, 

From 16 February 2023 until 31 March 2023 winter opening hours are in effect.

Opening hours: Tuesday-Sunday 10:00 – 16:00. Tickets are sold until 15:30. The closing procedure starts at 15:45.

The permanent exhibitions building and the Mythological Playground will remain open during the winter while the House of the painter and the Symphorus mithraeum can be visited at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00. The Archaeological Park can be visited during the winter only when the weather is dry and surfaces are not slippery. 

Protective buildings in the Archaeological Park and the Hercules villa in Meggyfa street are closed. The exhibition F.E.A.S.T. A three-course belly history in the old exhibition building will also be closed for the winter!

Visitors can access the museum on foot, by bicycle or by car only via the Záhony Street gate. The Szentendrei Road gate is currently closed!

Getting to the Aquincum Museum:

By public transportation:

  • Rail: Lines S72, S76, G72, Z72, Aquincum station.
  • HÉV suburban railway: Line H5, Kaszásdűlő and Aquincum stops.
  • Bus: Lines 34, 106 and 134, Záhony Street stop.  

By bicycle:

  • The car park of the museum can only be accessed via the Záhony Street gate, which can be reached from the south via the cycle path of Szentendrei Road or Ángel Sanz Briz Road, and from the north from the cycle path of Sujtás Street or Gázgyár Street.

By car:

  • The car park of the museum can only be accessed via the Záhony Street gate.
